Where Does Anxiety Live in the Body?

For 32 days, I tracked how anxiety physically manifested in my mind. I then created a series of collages, one for each day, to visually represent my experience. This project gave me a lot of insight on my anxiety triggers, how I manage it, and how it impacts my daily life. It also reinforced the practice of noticing, recognizing, and moving through anxiety and facilitated an increased sense of body and behavioral awareness.

The Process:

The Materials:

  • Transparent sheets

  • Sharpie

  • A photo of myself

  • Glue + Scissors

  • Cut outs of body parts

Community Experience

After presenting this work and getting a lot of positive feedback and interest in the exercise, I’ve chosen to develop a workshop around it. Below is the design and prototype for the accompanying workbook.
