The Myth by which the Universe Manifests, 2021 / Paper Collage, (dimensions) / by Maya Williams

Using scraps of paper I tore from fashion magazines and old copies of The New Yorker, I attempted to create a visual personification of my alter ego, Mxyx (pronounced Miks. As depicted, Mxyx is a creator. They takes bits of different worlds and elegantly cobbles them together to create new realities. Their many eyes indicates their keen ability to analyze from multiple perspectives and understandings. Mxyx is a character very close to my own heart for their strength, their ingenuity, and their creativite nature.
